ARSi Advanced Materials & Functional Structures Group

ARSi Space is recognized for excellence in materials sciences and developing a new class of functional structures. Our Materials team has diverse experience in materials research, engineering and applications. ARSi's founder, Dr. Menges, has focused on new methods in developing and processing materials for reactive and variable geometry structures with applications to power generation and motorless motion, energy storage, thermal management and controls, hypersonics and morphing vehicles, additive manufacturing and building construction.

In 2006 ARSi was recognized by the NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts for developing a new class of functional structures and morphing's vehicles (above). The new approach nearly 20 years ago, implemented neuromorphic systems in the control and operation of multifunctional structures. ARSi's continuing R&D advancing advanced and functional materials has established our space systems team as one of the most accomplished in commercial space.

New projects include the energy harvesting iX-Satellite (iX-Sat™) which offers a scalable platform for space power, communications & remote sensing.
